The Department of Neurosurgery at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center is at the forefront of clinical care, education, and scientific research in Neurosurgery. Our neurosurgeons are renowned for their expertise in all subspecialty areas of neurosurgery, including cerebrovascular disease, neurosurgical oncology, neurotrauma, skull-based tumors, pain and functional neurosurgery, complex spinal reconstruction, and peripheral nerve surgery. We have an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery Residency Program affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine in Temple, the only neurosurgical residency in Central Texas.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center is a 636-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital founded in 1897 when Dr. Arthur C. Scott and Dr. Raleigh R. White, Jr opened the Temple Sanitarium in Temple, Texas. BSWMC is an ACS-certified level-I Trauma Center and JACHO-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.   It was recently ranked #5 in the country among major teaching hospitals by Fortune/IBM Watson Health 100 TOP Hospitals in the US. Academic Channel:

The academic channel aims to promote and advance current knowledge, improve clinical practice, and implement novel solutions to neurosurgical challenges, thereby enhancing patient safety, reducing surgical risks, promoting post-operative recovery, and mitigating the development of potential surgical complications.

We welcome submissions from a diverse community of scholars and professionals. The following individuals are eligible to submit their work: Students, Residents, Clinical Fellows, Faculty Members, Affiliated Researchers, Research Fellows and External Clinical and Medical Collaborators.

The academic channel accepts submissions of original basic and clinical research, review and systematic review articles, meta-analyses, clinical case studies, short communications, perspective articles, and technical reports on technological advancements in neurosurgical and interdisciplinary practices, as listed below.

We encourage submissions from interconnect disciplines such as radiology, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, neuroengineering, and neurocritical care to enhance the academic value of the channel.

-Artificial Intelligence in Neurosurgery (AI-driven surgical planning, diagnostics, outcome predictions);

-Neuroimaging in Neurosurgery (functional MRI, tractography, intraoperative imaging, computational modeling);

-Anesthesia and Neurocritical Care in Neurosurgery (perioperative care, neurophysiological monitoring, management of brain trauma);
